Residents on a street in Echo Park are fed up with the parking problems that they say started when a yoga studio moved in. The “Mission Peeker” pole that sits atop a popular hiking area on Mission Peak in Fremont has been repaired and restored after being sliced in half and tossed down the side of the mountain last month.“Thank you for your patience while we evaluated the condition of the Mission Peak Pole,” the East Bay Regional Park District said in a tweet Tuesday. “Today, staff has repaired and welded the Mission Peak Pole back into its original place. OAKLAND — Just seven months after charging a man with murder in the 2017 shooting death of a 24-year-old woman, prosecutors have dismissed the case due to lack of evidence, court records show,Randell Keith Jackson, 40, spent roughly four months in jail before the case was dismissed. He was charged in January but the court proceedings weren’t initiated until May, when he was transferred to Alameda County jail from state prison.The charges were dismissed Sept. 5, just before a court hearing where prosecutors would have had to publicly reveal the evidence against Jackson and call witnesses to testify. If not, you may want to track it down, because getting a new one could be tricky.The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is no longer distributing the white cards that were given out with Covid-19 vaccines earlier in the pandemic, according to the agency’s website.The CDC notes that it does not keep vaccination records and says recipients should contact their state health department’s immunization information system (IIS) if they want to keep track of their Covid-19 shots.“Your state’s IIS cannot issue you a vaccination card, but they can provide a digital or paper copy of your full vaccination record, including your COVID-19 vaccinations,” the agency says.The CDC recommends keeping a copy of your vaccination record for your primary care provider to help make future medical decisions. There will be no high school football state championship games in Northern California this season.The California Interscholastic Federation announced on Tuesday that all 15 state championship bowl games will be played at community colleges in Southern California on Dec. 8-9.The host schools will be El Camino College in Torrence, Pasadena City College and Saddleback College in Mission Viejo.Saddleback has played host to the five upper-division state title games the past two seasons, including Serra’s losses to Mater Dei-Santa Ana in 2021 and St. John Bosco-Bellflower in 2022.With the upper-division games in the South, the remaining divisions had been played at home sites in the North. SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KRON) -- A Safeway location in the South Bay is set to close after being open for 67 years. The grocery chain confirmed to KRON4 on Tuesday that its location at the Valley Fair Shopping Center will close "by early November." The store is located at 5146 Stevens Creek Blvd. in Santa Clara. SOUTHGATE, Mich.
